Ultrasound

Ultrasounds

An Ultrasound is a powerful diagnostic tool that provides real-time images of an animal's internal anatomy, offering crucial insights into circulatory, skeletal, and gastrointestinal systems. By emitting high-frequency sound waves and capturing returning signals with a small probe, it creates detailed images, particularly for abdominal organ examinations.

Echocardiograms

In cardiac health, an Echocardiogram delivers precise information without radiation, playing a key role in assessing heart health and managing cardiovascular conditions.

When combined with other diagnostic tools like radiographs, ultrasonography becomes a precise and non-invasive method to detect a range of abnormalities in veterinary medicine.

With extensive training beyond veterinary school and seven years of experience, Dr. Blackburn is pleased to offer this unique, state-of-the-art service option within the walls of River’s Edge. Our hospital's ultrasound capabilities include complete abdominal scans, echocardiograms, cervical and musculoskeletal exams, and urinary and reproductive scans. In addition to providing this service for REAH patients, outpatient scans are also available for non-clients upon referral from your family veterinarian.
